DR MICHAEL PJ BRENTERS
(FRACGP, DRCOG, FRANZCOG)
SPECIALIST CONSULTANT IN OBSTETRICS
Dr Brenters is an Australian trained specialist in obstetrics and gynaecology.
He trained at Leiden University in the Netherlands. Subsequently he moved to the UK where he worked in General Practice and Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
In 2000 he moved to Australia, where he initially worked in remote locations in WA, as a General Practitioner and District Medical Officer, with special responsibilities for Obstetrics.
In 2004 he started his specialist training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at King Edward Hospital. After successfully completing his training he moved into private practice and consults at SJOG Wexford Medical Centre at Murdoch and operates and delivers at St John of God Murdoch.
In addition to obstetrics, he manages abnormal Pap smears and colposcopy and can refer cases of suspected or proven gynaecological malignancy to his sub-specialist colleagues.
DR MAT EPEE
(MD, MRCOG, FRANZCOG)
SPECIALIST CONSULTANT IN GYNAECOLOGY
Dr Epee has a wide range of experience in gynaecology and obstetrics through his 20 years of practice and training in Australia, England, France, South Africa and Cameroon where he has learned to adapt to the patient’s needs in various settings.
He offers laparoscopic hysterectomy, medical and surgical treatment of abnormal periods, endometriosis, pelvic pain, ovarian cysts, fibroids, polyps, abnormal cervical cells (LLETZ) and genital prolapse. He offers colposcopy and other office procedures.
He concurrently works publicly at King Edward Memorial Hospital where he leads the Placenta Accreta team and where he provides complex laparoscopic and open gynaecological surgery as well as high risk obstetrics. He also works at Peel Health Campus.
He is a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Western Australia and he is training supervisor and examiner for RANZCOG. He delivers many O&G workshops and courses in the State. He has published and presented numerous scientific papers, projects, audits and review at national and international levels. He has been Head of Department of O&G at KEMH with a special interest in safety and quality.
DR RAJEEV SINGH
MD, FRCOG (UK), FRANZCOG, FACOG (USA), FRSM (UK), EBCOG-EFOG (EU), DGE (Germany) SPECIALIST CONSULTANT IN GYNAECOLOGY
Dr Singh trained at Cambridge, UK, and obtained advanced laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery training at Kiel, Germany, and a double sub-specialization in advanced laparoscopic and pelvic floor surgery, Urogynaecology and Reproductive Medicine from New Zealand. He is part of an International faculty at some of the top training centres across 3 continents.
He works at Fiona Stanley and St John of God Hospitals in Murdoch and brings his over 25 years’ experience to provide a high standard of compassionate care which places at its core, the patient’s best interests in a welcoming, fair, and inclusive environment.
Dr Singh is a highly experienced gynaecologist with a special interest in advanced laparoscopic & hysteroscopic surgery including laparoscopic hysterectomy and endometriosis surgery, myomectomy, fertility surgery, Urogynaecology (including surgery for prolapse & bladder problems), endometrial ablation and Colposcopy.
Andrea was trained as a Registered Nurse and spent her nursing career working throughout Perth’s major hospitals. After raising her family of four, she returned to General Practice as a medical receptionist. She then advanced her career and moved into the specialist field and has been with Southbank O & G for over four years.
REGISTERED MIDWIFE & LACTATION CONSULTANT
Cathy was born in Zimbabwe and completed her Diploma of Nursing in Harare and then moved to South Africa where she completed her Diploma of Midwifery.
In 1992 Cathy and her family immigrated to Perth. Cathy has over 30 years of midwifery experience, is a qualified Lactation Consultant and a Grief Counsellor. She has been with Southbank Obstetrics & Gynaecology for over 5 years and is very much a valued member of our team.
In addition to working with us, Cathy also works on St Mary’s Ward at St John of God Hospital Murdoch.
CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST, PERINATAL SPECIALIST
Jennifer is a Clinical Psychologist who has worked extensively with women and their families in the complete perinatal period. This refers to the time before pregnancy begins to the years following.
She provides psychological support, understanding and effective strategies for women who are on the journey to motherhood, encompassing conception, pregnancy, birth, parenthood and beyond.
